INITIAL DISCOVERY CONVERSATION
Before we agree to work together, it is important that we spend time talking about about how working with me can help you to get what you need from a coaching relationship. This is done during an initial "discovery" conversation which usually lasts about 45 minutes. I will send you a short questionnaire for completion in advance to support the discussion. The discovery conversation is free of charge.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
I work with clients who are committed to and serious about supporting themselves to do their best stuff both at work and in their life outside. Our Discovery Conversation is a great way for us both to begin understand how our coaching relationship is going to work and be effective. Talking about what you need and how I can help, helps us to start to get a "feel" for the work ahead.
If, at the end of our Discovery Conversation, we decide that we would like to work together, we will discuss and agree when your coaching sessions will begin and agree a convenient date, time and venue. There will be some paperwork to be completed before we start and I will talk you through that, including payment arrangements.
Following our Discovery Conversation, it is possible that we will decide not to work together. There can be many reasons for this but often it is because either or both of us feel we are not a good "fit" and how I work with clients is not going to meet your needs. I will always be honest with you about whether I feel I can help you and, if I don't feel I am the right person, try to point you in the direction of someone who I feel will be able help. Sometimes things change and clients come back at a later stage when it is right for us to work together - that's OK and a positive thing.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many sessions?
I ask that you commit to a minimum of 6 coaching sessions in the first instance. This is so that we can develop a relationship to work effectively together so that you get the most out of your investment in yourself. Sessions usually then continue in blocks of 6 as required, although variation to this may be possible by agreement.
How long is each sessions?
Each coaching session will always include a minimum of 1.5 hours of coaching. The whole session will usually last up to 2 hours to allow for arrival and ending.
How often do we meet?
Intervals between sessions are flexible to meet your specific needs. It may be that you would like 6 x weekly sessions for a more intense intervention or 1 session each month over a 6 month period if you feel that would be the most effective support framework for you. We will discuss and agree how you can use your sessions most effectively to get the support that you need
What happens between sessions?
After each session, I will send you a short email summarising any key points and actions. This is to provide you with a reference point of our session discussion and for any things you committed to take action on. We will agree the level and method of support available to you between face to face sessions as part of your bespoke coaching package.
Where are the sessions held?
I strongly believe that being away from your workplace is the most effective way for you to use the reflective space and coaching/consultation resource. Coaching sessions can take place at my practice in Westerham, Kent or at an alternative agreed venue. I prefer to work with clients face-to-face (at least for the first few sessions wherever possible) but Skype/Zoom and telephone coaching are also possible by agreement.
Who else will know what has been discussed?
From my perspective, a coaching session is completely confidential. This will only be breached in extreme circumstances, for example where I am concerned about your safety, the safety of others or the law requires me to.
FEES FOR 1:1 COACHING
Once we have spoken and agreed to work together, I will develop a bespoke coaching package for you . I base my fees on a range of factors and so they are individualised for each client's circumstances, requirements and needs. Fees will vary based on the length of the programme, frequency of sessions, logistics and any special requirements such as the level of support between sessions.
As a guide, my clients will typically invest between £2,500 and £8,000 for a 1:1 coaching programme over 3 - 12 months, tailored for them. They are investing in themselves and are committed to get stuff sorted and to make changes through their work with me. I commit to giving them the absolute benefit of my experience, my education and my training to support them to be their best self at work and outside. That's the deal.
